After the end of the first Qruu City development the teams decided to create a smaller project and rebuild the team from a ground up. It was also decided that this project should be another web game project that are optimized on mobile devices.

After the experience of building the web game using Unity Tiny on previous project, I’ve decided to change the engine because Unity Tiny is not ready. What I mean by not ready is that the tools are buggy and only working on certain unity version and special settings. There is also no update from the Unity team for over the year so it might have future problem if the tools never have any update.

So, I suggested to use Cocos Creator. The first reason is because Cocos is the most used engine on Facebook instant game. It’s easy to check if a game is made using Cocos just using inspect. The second reason is because the engine is made to resemble unity as close as possible.

After I convinced the team to use Cocos for web game project, all front end programmer including me are task to learn how to use this engine while the game designer brainstorming several game ideas.

Hotel Heist Prototype

The game designer come up with several ideas and then each Cocos programmer are tasked to prototype quickly. I got to prototype a game called Hotel Heist. The story of this game is to pack hotel items as much as possible to the player case and steal it. So, it’s basically just an item organizing game.
